Per the Center for Disease Control the safest way to celebrate Thanksgiving is with the people in your household. It is recommended to not travel, or gather in groups outside of those you live with.

Traditional Thanksgiving gatherings with family and friends are fun but can increase the chances of getting or spreading COVID-19 or the flu. Follow these tips to make your Thanksgiving holiday safer.

Virtual Celebration

Using Zoom or Facetime you can still connect with all of your family members, and celebrate together. You can get creative with this, try playing charades, or exchange funny stories. Zoom is lifting their regular 40-minute limit on basic accounts on Nov 26 so you can meet with your family members all night!

Outside Activity

Plan a DIY Turkey Trot with your family. You can set a distance or time goal and get the whole household up and about on Thanksgiving morning.

Virtual Shopping

If you are big on Black Friday, map out what items you want to purchase. Consider support small businesses in your area, check to see if they have online shopping or gift cards for purchase!

Cozy Night In

Plan for a cozy night in with yourself. Grab your favorite snacks and have a marathon of your favorite holiday movies.

Cook a Grand Meal

You may not be having your family over, but you can still cook all your thanksgiving foods! Who says you can’t just make stuffing and pie? There are no rules! Grab your ingredients via grocery pickup and be baking all day!

Order In

If cooking is not therapeutic for you, opt for ordering from your favorite delivery place! Be sure to grab your favorite sweet treat for dessert, even try a new local bakeshop!

Focus on Self-Care

2020 has been incredibly trying, take this day to recenter and refocus. Take time away from things that cause you stress, and enjoy things that bring you comfort.
